- Abstract
- Bosniak classification type 1 renal cysts (Type 1 renal cyst) are very frequent and do not warrant follow-up or specific treatment. Here, however, we report two cases of type 1 renal cysts that were diagnosed on CT, US, and gross pathology without a solid component. All two cases were later verified as cases of cystic renal cell carcinoma upon the final histologic report. Therefore, we suggest that type 1 renal cysts are not always benign and regular follow-up imaging studies should be performed. © 2009 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
