- Abstract
- 이 논문은 자유주의 사상의 전통에 있어 사유재산의 절대성에 대한 한계를 모색함으로써 인권과 사유재산권의 관계를 구명하는 것을 주목적으로 한다. 따라서 이 연구에서 주 대상이 되는 사상가는 존 로크와 토머스 페인이다. 로크는 재산권의 절대성과 저항권을 강조함으로써 자유주의 인권론의 발전에 있어 중요한 기여를 하였다. 그러나 자유주의 이념 속에 사유재산과 인권의 문제에 대한 더 적극적인 노력은 페인에게서 발견된다. 페인은 개인의 자연적 권리라는 자유주의적 틀 속에서 재산권과 인권을 양립시키려는 시도를 하였다.
