Abstract
This study aims at examining relationships among socioeconomic status, subjective class identification, high leisure activity, and life satisfaction. A set of hypotheses were set forth and subjected to an empirical assesment by testing inequality and effectiveness of high leisure use on life satisfaction based on a national-level sample survey. Research results are as follows. First, people of high socioeconomic status and high subjective class identification are more likely to participate at high-class leisure activities and have a higher level of life satisfaction. However, a post-hoc analyses revealed that the effects of socioeconomic effects and subjective class identification are not significant. Second, socioeconomic status has a significant effect on the rate of high-class leisure participation. Third, subjective class identification has a significant effect on life satisfaction. Lastly, high-class leisure participation has a significant and direct effect on life satisfaction, and its indirect effect via socioeconomic status is also significant on life satisfaction
