- Abstract
- 본 연구에서는 Taagepera & Shugart 공식을 재해석함으로써 국회의원 규모 추정에 좀 더 적절한 모형을 개발하고, 이를 이용하여 우리나라 국회의원 규모를 국제 비교하였다. 분석결과 우리나라의 국회의원 규모는 전 세계적(IPU 가입국 기준)으로는 중간보다 다소 작은 수준이며, OECD 국가들 중에서는 그보다 더 작은 편에 속하는 것으로 나타났다.이러한 결과는 기존의 연구와 유사하지만, 국회의원 규모 국제 비교에 보다 적절한 모형을 개발하고, 전 세계적인 비교와 선진국들 사이의 비교를 통하여 우리나라 국회의원 규모의 상대적 크기를 보다 명확하게 파악하고 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.
