- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 8 weeks of lumbar stabilization exercise on Forward head posture and neck function(NDI:neck disability index). Sixteen patients with chronic neck pain participated in this study and were randomly assigned to the exercise group(n=8) and the control group(n=8). The exercise program consists of various types of lumbar stabilization exercise. The exercise group performed the lumbar stabilization exercise modified from the previous studies with three times a week for 8 weeks. In results, there was a significant difference in craniovertebral angle(p<.001) and neck function(p<.001) after 8 weeks of exercise intervention. This results suggests that lumbar stabilization exercise is a beneficial intervention to improve forward head posture and neck function in patients with chronic neck pain.
