- Abstract
- Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of pyhtoncide-rich indoor exercise on the cardiovascular index, stress and total antioxidant capacity.
Method: 10 male university students performed the exercise as subjecs tfor this study and the results wer e measured repeatedly during the research. Tests were examined of each subject by graded exercise test using Bruce protocol. The first experiment was conducted with treadmlli exercise, and the second experiment wa s conducted using phytoncide. The experiment measured blood presusre, heart rate, arterial oxygen saturation, stress and antioxidation. The results of this experiment were botained by using SPSS 22.0 statistics package , and the average(M) and standard deviation(SD) were calculated by Two-way repeated measure ANOVA.
Results: The subsequent results were as follows; 1) The blood pressure was clearly distinguished according to the measured time of blood pressure according to phytoncidev olatilization(p<.001). 2) The heart rate was clearly distinguished according to the measured time of heart rate according to phytoncide volatilization(p<.05).
3) There was no clear distinction in arterial oxygen saturation according to phytoncide volatilization(p>.05). 4) A clear distinction was shown according to the measured time of the autonomic nervous system according to phytoncide volatilization(p<.05). 5) A clear distinction was shown according to the time measured for total antioxidant capacity according to phytoncide volatilization(p<.05).
Conclusion: In conclusion, the result of phytoncide volatilization in indoor exercise affects the cardiovascular index, stress, total antioxidant capacity.
