淸朝遺老가 바라본 淸代學術- 羅振玉의 『本朝學術源流槪略』 硏究

Abstract

This essay examines Luo Zhenyu’s lecture notes Benchaoxueshuyuanliugailüe. Luo is a Chinese scholar who lived through the end of Qing dynasty and the early Republican period. Luo’s contributions to Chinese Grammatology are remarkable as they are exemplified in the studies of Oracle Characters and the compilation of Dunhuang documents. Nevertheless, Luo’s position and role for the Intellectual History of Modern China have yet attracted much attention. This is mainly because Luo did not recognize the Republican China even after the fall of the Qing, claiming himself as one of the Qing loyalists by collaborating with the Puppet State Manchukoku. Luo’s Benchaoxueshuyuanliugailüe differs from the existing accomplishments of the Qing dynasty scholarship which are mostly based upon Anti-Manchuism. As a Qing loyalist who were dedicated to the Manchu emperor, Luo’s perspective would shed light on the diversified understanding of the Qing scholarship.
