Abstract
The purpose of this study is to supply basic data for exercise prescription considering cardiorespiratory fitness levels by investigating the effect of sprint interval execrise depending on cardiorespiratory fitness levels on serum cytokines and cardiovascular disease risk factors. Subjects were divided into three groups, low(LOW,n=7), moderate(MID, n=7) and high(HIGH, n=7), depending on their cardiorespiratory fitness levels suggested by ACSM. Blood was sampled before(pre), immediately after(post) and 90min after(recovery 90min)sprint interval exercise. As results, LOW showed significant increase of IL-10 at recovery 90min compared with pre. However, IL-6 and CRP levels were the highest in LOW. Ino cnclusion, sprint interval exercise is considered to be more effective in increasing the IL-10 which is the anti-inflammatory cytokine to a person who has low cardiorespiratory fitness level but increases IL-6 and CRP, cardiovascular disease risk factors. Therefore, it requires care applying sprint interval exercise to a person who has low cardiorespiratory fitness level.
