- Abstract
- Wherever there are people, there is conflict. Conflicts are part of everyday life. However, it is not easy for the conflicting parties to find a solution to the conflict through direct dialogue. When their conflict resolution strategies fail, people often try to resolve them through the law. However, not all disputes can be satisfactorily resolved by court decisions. For this reason, arbitration is becoming more and more important as an out-of-court settlement of disputes. Another reason for the growing importance of mediation is how to deal with socially changed conflicts. Conflicts are no longer a taboo. A variety of television programs that help parenting experts, psychiatrists, and psychologists resolve conflicts show this well. Arbitration is not only used in the private sector, but also in the public sector. Mediation is a pattern of communication and is one of a number of communication methods and forms that deal with social conflict between members of society. Research on these interventions at various levels is urgently needed, but linguistic intervention studies are virtually non-existent in Korea. The aim of this work is to show theoretical possibilities for linguistic analysis and evaluation of mediation discussions. Building on this, we would like to conduct a follow-up study to find out the core structure of the mediation dialogue, which linguistic problems mediators are confronted with and which principles of mediation can be used to solve these problems.
