- Abstract
- 현지조사를 통해 특정 국가나 지역의 맥락을 깊이 있게 이해함으로써 관심 사 안에 대한 답을 구하는 단일사례연구가 전통적인 지역연구의 방법이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 아직 민주주의로의 전환을 경험하지 않은 싱가포르를 사례로 비교연구 방법을 활용하는 지역연구의 예를 제시한다. 지역연구에서 비교연 구 방법을 활용하면 단일 사례로부터 관찰한 연구 질문의 중요성을 높이고, 주 장의 타당성을 높이며, 사회과학 이론 발전에도 기여할 수 있다.
