Abstract
A large-area (30x30cm(2)) polymer film, embedded with green- and red-emitting colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) to generate white light excited by blue light emitting diodes (LEDs), is fabricated. To prevent reabsorption and nonradiative energy transfer between QDs causing a significant redshift of the desired final color, the polymer film structure comprised of separated green and red emitting composite layers is explored. As a result, high-quality white light generation is demonstrated by placing these composite films on a blue LED platform.
