- Abstract
- During the 20th century, both dental materials and dental technologies for the fabrication of dental devices progressed remarkably. Traditional dental prosthetic appliances were fabricated by lost wax technique and casting method. But currently Computer-aided design / Computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) System having various functions to fabricate dental prosthesis are being introduced. In this article, we review the recent history of the development of dental CAD/CAM systems. Finally, we discuss the future perspectives applicable to dental CAD/CAM.
