- Abstract
- In this paper, I have examined the misconceptions centering on the existing studies and tried to show the misconceptions in the Korean grammar textbooks. I have suggested that it is desirable to use misconceptions only for learners. In addition, six elements of current reading and grammatical textbooks are considered to be factors that can lead to learner's misconceptions in textbooks.
First, the terms of use and explanation, secondly, source of materials, and thirdly, method of presentation of contents and materials were mentioned. In any case, it was realized that the precise understanding of grammar in essence does not constitute misconceptions, and that various factors that could lead to learner misconceptions should be removed from the whole process of textbook production. The study of the nature and type of misconceptions that learners can have will be useful for the development of grammar education in the future.
