- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of globalization on the vocational education and training (VET) system in South Korea from the perspective of human resource development (HRD) by conducting a comprehensive literature review. Globalization is a very critical issue because it can have an influence on the national economy by reforming the VET system. Thus, this paper systematically indicates the evolution of the VET system in South Korea and the influence of globalization on the VET system. Furthermore, the future directions for the VET system in South Korea are discussed. Finally, what HRD policymakers and professionals should do to cope with the influence of globalization on the VET system to maintain the development of the national economy of South Korea is suggested.
