- Abstract
- This study analyzes influences of the factors on the consumption of five different kinds of processed foods;PB(Private Brand), discounted, imported, premium, and convenience foods. Consumer’s dietary lifestyle is set as major determinant of food consumption pattern. Four clusters derived from factor analysis are used as dietary lifestyle variables. The estimation results of probit model indicate consumers’ dietary lifestyles significantly influence the consumption pattern of processed food. Factors affecting food consumption other than lifestyle are identified to be gender, age, marriage, education level, whether or not have child, etc. The impact of dietary lifestyle is estimated to be different across five processed foods.
