High-density CdTe nanowires have been for the first time grown on soda-lime glass substrates via solution-liquid-solid (SLS) approach. ZnSe nanocrystals were synthesized via TOP/TOPO route and coated on the CdTe nanowires to form CdTe/ZnSe core/shell structures. CdTe/ZnSe nanowires showed enhanced photoluminescence emission compared to bare CdTe nanowires.
