- The Journal of Nuclear Medicine (JNM)—self-published by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), a nonprofit, international scientific andprofessional organization—offers readers around the globe clinical investigations, basic science reports, continuing educationarticles, book reviews, employment opportunities, and updates on rapidly changing issues in practice and research. JNM—the flagship publication of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI)—ranked fifth place amongst all129 medical imaging journals in its category, according to new data released in the 2019 Journal Citation Reports© publishedby Web of Science - Clarivate Analytics. JNM—a peer-reviewed, monthly publication—earned an impact factor of 7.354. Web of Science - Clarivate Analytics measures a journal’s impact—or significance—based on the number of article citationscompared to the total number of articles published. The impact factor—a quantitative measure of the frequency with which anarticle in a journal is cited—is used to gauge the overall influence of a journal within scientific, professional and academiccommunities. The impact factor is often used as a measure of the quality and influence of medical journals among researchers.
