- Abstract
- 본 연구는 우리나라에서 군복무 경험이 임금과 취업에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 청년패널 1차년도 조사(YP2007)를 이용하여 실증적으로 분석하였다. 취업분석을 위해서는 로짓모형을 사용하였으며, 임금분석을 위해서는 선택편의를 고려한 Heckman의 표본선택모형을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 군복무 경험은 취업이나 임금 같은 노동시장 성과에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 2년여의 군생활이 개인들의 취업능력이나 생산성 향상에 보탬이 되지 않는다는 것을 의미하며, 따라서 국가방위라는 고유 임무 이외에도 군생활 이후의 노동시장 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 군복무 과정에서의 교육훈련 프로그램들이 마련되고 개선될 필요가 있다는 것을 암시한다.
