Abstract
In studies of bilingual word processing, the primary focus has been on whether various bilingual lexical information is selectively or nonselectively activated (Doctor & Klein, 1992; Van Heuven, Dijkstra, & Grainger, 1998; Dijkstra, Grainger, & Van Heuven, 1999; De Groot, Delmaar, & Lupker, 2000). Specifically, when a reader processes second language, the lexical properties of the first language can influence the processing of the second language, or vice versa.
