- Abstract
- This exploratory study focuses on the role of IT and captures business strategy in a complex ecosystem environment. The study presents and discusses findings from a qualitative case study on Hyundai Motor's ecosystem from IT aspects, in which each company can sustain or enhance its niche capability in an ecosystem using IT. Given rapidly changing circumstances, IT helps companies move to other species in the ecosystem and move to other ecosystems. Digital business strategy, which uses IT as a hands-off manager in a business ecosystem, is composed of IT for species capabilities and IT for strategic choices. © 2017 International Information Institute.
