- Abstract
- This study aims to show in education the merits of collaborative (tele)translation in B language French learners studying revised Korean translations of subtitles of a Korean series made by Korean French learners. The French “revisers” commented in French and suggested modifications, which were partially accepted, without working in AVT mode. Beyond language and socio-cultural skills, this competitive online collaboration (two Korean teams for the same excerpt), allowed our Korean learners to experiment with most of the steps relating to the editing of subtitles: translation, revision, encoding, simulation, adjustments. This Franco-Korean “collaboration” gave everyone a sense of accomplishment, shared by the teacher. The involvement of the French learners while the subtitles are comprehensively edited may be needed for this collective work to evolve into a real “collaboration”. © John Benjamins Publishing Company
